Nikol and Andrew are that couple you just want to be friends with — gracious and warm, laid-back and easy to laugh. Their love for each other is obvious and enviable.
After an intimate first-look in a rose garden across from Ontario Place’s West Channel, the pair made their way to the Argonaut Rowing Club and enjoyed a few quiet moments alone before a sun-drenched wedding ceremony on the dock. A ceremony, mind you, that included a malfunctioning knot— meant to be ceremoniously tied — which simply refused to cooperate. The moment — strange and spontaneous amid an otherwise flawless affair — sent the crowd and the couple into hysterics. It was perfect.
A dinner followed in the Rowing Club’s Henley Room — with an incredible menu provided by Kiss the Cook that fueled up the guests for a party to come. Pausing briefly between speeches, the couple ran back out to the dock for dancing portraits at the sun set behind the city.
In an ode to the bride’s Greek Cypriot heritage, a full night of celebration was kicked off by a traditional Kalamatianós dance which brought the impassioned crowd of family and friends onto the floor.
As classic and beautiful as the couple, “You Send Me” by Sam Cooke was their first dance.
At first I thought it was infatuation
But it’s lasted so long
Now I find myself wanting
To marry you and take you home.
You, you, you, you send me
I know you send me
I know you send me
Honest you do
